John (300m) > The little house.
I took a group of shots last night, but I got home late and did not have time to process. So I am pulling one from my archives. I captured this in Williamsburg this summer. My wife & I had gone for a walk through the town after dinner and I was able to capture this shot using my D200 I liked the framing and the green grass setting off the white buildings of the city.

Enjoy your Sunday
John (300m) > Herb stores
This is last in the Yorktown series. Tomorrow I will have something different for you. This is the first build you see entering the area, some type of storage building. Thanks to everyone for all the comments on the series here. I am off again today, have a evening shoot when I return so my comments will be later tonight. I hope Saturday to get to my Christmas tree!

have a great day and weekend folks
John (300m) > Colonial Home
This is the inside of a colonial home in Yorktown. This small house is next to the tobacco house. This shot shows the family dining area and living area. Behind me is the parent master bed, about the size or a twin bed. The children are on the second story and the baby next to the master bed. Not much else located in the house. notice the prize dishes on the wall on the right side with a few decorations on the wall. There is a trunk like the one on the left wall on the right also.
Thanks for all the comments the last 2 days on this series. I am on the road today. I am posting this early 5AM and then driving for 3 hrs to make 3 meetings. Going to be a long day for me and I do not expect to be home till at least 7PM so I will get comments after I get some dinner. I am on the road again on Friday also, just not as long I hope.
Have a great day
John (300m) > Tobacco House interior
This is the interior of yesterday's shot. If you will notice there are lots of tobacco leaves hanging from the rafters/ceiling. Curing barrels and a very stark interior. The bed is on the floor in the corner with the worldly positions on the shelf above the bed. Nothing like we live today or even 50 years ago. Knowing this area it was cold in the winter and hot and muggy in the summer. Very defiantly a hard life the early colonist lead.
Thanks very much for all the kind comments yesterday on the outside of the tobacco house.
Have a great day.
John (300m) > Tobacco House
This is part of a series of shot I will put up for the week that I took in Yorktown. This is a Tobacco house where the person lived and worked tobacco. Tomorrow I will show the inside of this house. The tones and the color reflected the bleak exterior of the home. It was a dull gray with mold on the side. Matching the lifeless feel the sky had. The B&W had a good feel for the day and the tone. In talking with the local colonial folks it was fitting as this was not a great place to work.

Have a great day
