Early morning golden light illuminates this GBH in flight. Captured last week on one of my early morning walks 1st thing out.

Treeded!

I have never seen a Great Blue Heron perched up in a pine tree. But here he stands on a limb about 20' off the ground. Shot at about 500mm to capture this shot. He stood there long enough that I was able to drop my speed down to 1/160 sec and ISO 200. I was Impressed.

In the breeze

You can see the tuft of hair on the back of the head and the chest hairs blosing in the wind. It was cold and the the wind was gusting to 21. I caught him perched on the bridge rail I take to cross the lake
